This is basically sawdust and glue pressed into wood sheets. Particle board is very brittle. It is also very moisture sensitive, do not get it wet or it will swell and disintegrate.When assembling any Sauder product, take your time and be very careful when installing any screws or nails. The slightest deviation from perfect will result in the wood splitting, chipping or separating and it will not be easy to repair.
