I was completely hesitant to buy after the other reviews, but I needed a narrow wardrobe, quickly and didnt want to spend a lot of money. I use this for mine and my husbands winter coats, as permanent storage in our basement. Not only is it holding about 15 heavy coats [leather, down, snow, wool], it's also holding our snowbaording pants and light jackets too. Also, I have put a heavy firemans jacket in the bottom, as well as 3 backpacks [internal frame, ~7lbs ea backpack]. It's holding up perfectly fine! I have not used and probably wont use the shoe storage, so I cant comment about that, but I it appears it can "hold" a basic pair of shoes, flats/low heel, fine.I wouldnt use this as an everyday wardrobe that I would zip/unzip multiple times every day, but for an extra closet that you dont need to go into it's totally worth every penny!! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful:  Works for temporary use quite well..., By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Honey-Can-Do WRD-01270 27-Inch Wide Storage Closet with 9-Side Storage and Shoe Bins, Tan (Kitchen) Works for temporary use quite well... although it is cheaply made and honestly for the price and what I need it for (a 1-1/2 month temporary closet for my teenage niece over summer break to set up in the theatre room) it was worth just that. Although, I had a little difficulty putting it together without breaking the posts. But I was able to get up the light weight makeshift closet and it stayed in one piece the full duration of the time that I need it to.
