We have a small closet in our nursery that didn't have studs in it for a typical closet rod installation, but the tension rod works great. Easy to install and is very sturdy so far.

I did not expect too much as I bought this rod but now I have to say it is just great. It's easy to put in place, the rubber ends prevent it from leaving any marks on the walls and you are able to tighten it in such a way that you almost think you could to chin-ups on it. I use it as a curtain rod at the end of the stairs and we keep stepping on this curtain a lot of times. But no matter how hard we accidentally pull the curtain, the rod does not move a bit and also does not get lose. I love it.

This rod is not as strong as regular tension shower rods. There is a pin to adjust the length of the rod and a turn screw to refine the fit. However, the pin is so flimsy that tightening the screw pushes the pin half out of its hole and of course significantly reduces the strength of the rod. This is definitely not a good clothing/closet rod as described; it will fall within a day like mine. Also it is a huge pain to install because there are several parts that can and will move while you are trying to set it up.
